Another Revolution

A poem

Happy New Year! I hope your ‘23 is off to a restful start.

I have a bit shorter of a post today. As I mentioned, I’m using the winter break to finish my next four songs before heading to Florida for my final semester. All is going swell.

Seeing as I’m in the lyrical mindset—and taking the date into consideration—I wanted to share another poem. It originated as a song, but I felt that the words alone stand better than the melody.

There’s nothing worse than recognizing that a window of opportunity has passed. That’s the theme of this poem, but it’s also my occasion to say thank you.

Most years are a blur, but I’ll always remember 2022 as a pivotal lap. There’s probably an update necessary in the near future, but for now, know how grateful I am for your continued support in building this outlet.

Enjoy the poem, or catch up on the last essay which goes hand in hand with the theme of time.

Happy 2023.🍾🌎

Another Revolution

(Chorus)
Another revolution,
Another breaking day.
Reckless institution,
Sour, twisted fate.

Seek ye restitution;
Lift up, O ye gates!

My reflection bid me disillusion.
I missed another revolution.
